An important work by the Croatian malacologist Spiridion Brusina (1845-1908), providing a scientific (malacological) background to illustrations made by Stefano Abate Chiereghini (1745-1820). A small stamp of the American malacologist Richard Irwin Johnson (1925-2020) on the half-title. Wrappers a bit smudged; rear wrapper with an old repair, otherwise very good. Rare.
