Thesis of the prolific German malacologist Carl Theodor Menke (1791-1861). It deals with Australian and Indo-Pacific marine molluscs collected between 1838 and 1842 by the German (later Australian) botanist and naturalist Johann August Ludwig Preiss (1811-1883), especially on Australia's western coasts. A total of 263 species, are discussed. Quite a number of species are new. Some light spotting, and a few small wormholes towards the end, otherwise a very good copy. Rare; especially with the original wrappers still present. Cat. BM(NH) p. 1287.
