Batavia, G. Kolff, 1889. Small 4to (24.4 x 16.3 cm). 51 pp. Original crimson pebbled and embossed cloth with gilt ornamental bands and gilt title on the front board. Floral-pattered endpapers. Interesting and very nicely bound treatise on gold reserves and gold mining in what is now Indonesia. Includes several tables comparing the various mining companies. The author, the Belgian mining director Octave [J. A.] Collet is perhaps best known for his Terres et peuples de Sumatra (1925). He wrote several works on Indonesian ethnography. Inscribed (by the author) on the half-title. Slight rubbing to the spine, otherwise a very good, clean copy. Rare. Not in any major bibliography. Rare treatise on gold reserves and gold mining in Indonesia
