Two subsequently published parts of a series of scientific studies based on an expedition to Irian Jaya (the western part of New Guinea, now part of Indonesia). These two parts deal exclusively with zoology. The part on birds, by Van Oort, is the largest, and includes a fine full colour plate. Other large contributions are by De Rooy (Reptiles), de Beaufort (also birds), Jentink (mammals), and Van Kampen (Amphibia). Also present are smaller studies on Neuropteroidea, freshwater sponges, Dermatoptera, and "Cassididae" (i.e., Chrysomelidae, not gastropods). Internally clean, unmarked. A very good copy.
