Boards with silver, floral cornerpieces and silver clasps and catches. pastedowns covered with papier dominoté. All edges gilt and gauffered with garlands and floral patterns.

A fine, early 19th-century German binding. In the rear a second work titled Betrachtungen Gebete und Lieder zur Erbauung und Ermunterung vor und nach dem Genusse des heiligen Abendmahls (72 pp., last misnumbered 34), printed in 1811 in Ulm (Germany). Slight wear, mostly to the joints. Clasps with silver mark "w", and an engraved owner's mark, "M C M / G / R B G".
