Becker, L.
Les arachnides de Belgique. [Volumes] I-III. [complete].
Bruxelles, l'Académie royale de Belgique, 1882-1896. Three volumes in four. Folio (40.0 x 28.0 cm). 751 [I: 246; II: 127; III: 378] pp.; 70 [I: 27; II: 25; III: 18] hand-coloured lithographed plates. Some text figures. Original uniform printed boards.
An important monograph on the arachnids of western Europe and of Belgium in particular, containing two three text volumes (in two) and three atlases (in two) with very fine hand-coloured plates by Becker himself. The plates show habitats and webs too. Vague, erased, library stamps on front boards, titles and half-titles. Spine ends of the combined text volumes II-III rubbed, boards and last gathering detached. The three other volumes with the spine ends worn but otherwise intact. In all a good complete set with clean, unfoxed plates. Rare. Bonnet, p. 253; Nissen ZBI, 277.
