Cape Town, The Trustees of the South African Museum, 1929-1938. 11 papers in one. Large 8vo (24.4 x 16.8 cm). 281 pp.; 88 b/w plates (some larger, folded), numerous text figures. 20th-Century half cloth over pebbled cloth boards. Gilt title on the spine.

This is a rarely seen collection of anthropological, ethnographical, and archaeological contributions published in the Annals of the South African Museum, Volume 24. Apart from the profusely illustrated contributions by Ella Margaret Shaw, it includes five papers by A. J. H. Goodwin [ The Montague Cave; A Comparison between Capsian and South African Stone Cultures; Vosburg: Its Petroglyphs; Klip Kop Cave, Hermanus; and Archaeology of the Cape St. Blaize Cave and Raised Beach, Mossel Bay - the last paper co-authored with B. D. Malan], and two papers on San people, viz., The Dentation of a Bushman Tribe by M. R. Drennan, and The Osteology of a Bushman Tribe by D. Slome. A paper of J. Drury, Preliminary Report on Anthropological Researches... although belonging to Vol. 24, is not included. Cancelled stamp on volume title, otherwise clean, unmarked. A very good, rich and varied collection.
