Written by the French doctor Léon Charles Albert Calmette (1863-1933), founder of antivenomous serotherapy, and profusely illustrated. Many illustrations show species of venomous snakes, and in particular their heads, and skulls. "Dept. of Physiology" written in and old hand on the front pastedown. A fine copy.
