A fine illustration of flowering burdocks, with a hilly landscape in the distance, made by the German artist Angelika Tübke (b. 1935), known for her fine portraits and still-lifes. She was the first wife of the German painter Werner Tübke (1929-1904). After studying at Die Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst (Academy of Fine Arts) in Leipzig, she started her career in 1959. Burdock is a traditional medicinal herb used for many ailments. Signed by Tübke in the top margin. An attractive work in a fine state.
