An interesting, well-illustrated study, in English, being one of a few dealing with the history of Chinese entomology. The first edition was in Chinese only. Chapters deal with silk worms, pest control, insect taxonomy, etc. It includes a chronological table of ancient Chinese entomology and a brief Chinese chronology. The author, Chou Io (1912-2008) started publishing in 1933. His last paper was published in 2008. He was one of the leading Chinese entomologists during the second half of the 20th century.
