A seldom-seen, well-bound copy of this in-depth monograph on South African ants, written by the British entomologist and Hymenoptera specialist George Arnold (1881-1962). Published in the Annals of the South African Museum, as the complete Volume 14. Published in six parts between 1915 and 1924. A later supplement is not included. Plates v-ix are bound in twice. Damp-stained at the bottom, quite visible on the edges, but hardly penetrating into the paper - a few leaves have the lower margin a bit wavy. Cancelled stamp on volume half-title, otherwise clean. Not in Cat. BM(NH).
