This part of the largest and longest-running malacological series, deals with the Angariidae, Scissurellidae and Anatomidae, the genus Umbonium, and various Liotiidae and Vitrinellidae. Started by Küster in 1837 it was abandoned in 1920. The work, written by the German (later Chilean) malacologist, palaeontologist and archaeologist Rudolph Amandus, or "Rudolfo Amando", Philippi (1808-1904) is well-illustrated and contains new species. Uncut. Wrappers a bit frayed at the edges, with a few short tears; titles with a few spots, text and plates clean. In all a very good copy. Rare. Caprotti II, p. 46 (210); Nissen ZBI, 2723.
