Rare first edition of an interesting compilation of every method of fishing and fisheries and fish breeding in the beginning of the 19th century. Very well illustrated. The work went through three more editions up to 1829. Westwood and Satchell only list the 1820 and later editions. In this edition the author is listed as "J. C****", which we believe to be Jean Cussac. Small, ichthyological/ornithological bookplete of Kühlmann on the front pastedownFrontispiece and last few pages with some very light brown spots, binding a bit worn, otherwise a very good copy. Westwood and Satchell, p. 171.
