Friedrichroda, Privately published, 1915. Folio (34.5 x 25.0 cm). Title page, frontispiece; 10, [iv] pp.; 32 plates (27 numbered; three double-sized or larger) with explanatory text leaves Plain wrappers.

Written and illustrated by the German teacher and amateur palaeontologist Alwin Langenhan (1850-1916). The plates illustrates molluscs, brachiopods, sea lilies, reptiles, etc., etc. New taxa, including molluscs and brachiopods, are described and illustrated. This a second, enlarged edition of a work first published by the author in 1903 (but undated). This edition, which includes " Ergänzungen zur 'Trias', Buntsandstein, Muschelkalk, Keuper. 1915" has more plates. Both editions are very rare. Of the first edition there is one auction record - of this second there is none. A few plates foxed, but nearly all plates, and all text clean. A very good copy. Cat. BM(NH), Supplement p. 604. Not in Nissen.
