Very rare part of the Neues systematisches Conchylien-Cabinet founded by Küster, who also wrote this part. According to Johnson (J. Soc. Bibl. nat. Hist.), this was started in 1841 and completed in 1855, not 1852 as printed on the title. The front wrapper is from the Kobelt era, with Emil Küster as publisher. The title, half-title text, and plates to the volume are older, printed under Küster and published by Julius Merz. This part deals with Pupa (which includes for instance Cerion), Megaspira, Balea and Tornatellina. The second half-title reads "Fünfte Abtheilung der Heliceen. Pupa und Vertigo" but, as noted, more genera are included. Some text sections spotted, as often, others very clean. All plates clean, with strong, natural colours. Small stamp of the German malacologist and environmentalist Herbert Ant (1933-2010) on front flyleaf and on front wrapper. The text page numbers 177-178 have not been used.
