The collected malacological descriptions of, mainly, new species, by the prolific American malacologist Augustus Addison Gould (1804-1866), edited by the author (including, e.g., many generic changes (including one new), listed in a chapter titled "Rectifications"). Several light-pencilled marginalia, mostly original page references, a few corrections. Provenance: stamp of the American malacologist Richard Irwin Johnson (1925-2020) in the top margin of the title page. A few leaves slightly toned, otherwise a very good, clean copy. Rare. Cat. BM(NH) p. 701. Not in Caprotti.
