This massive, complete set of all that was published on the Notodontidae, or prominents. Written by the Belgian entomologist of Russian descent, Serge Grégoire Kiriakoff (1898-1984). It consists of the following parts: 217a. Pars prima Genera Aethiopica et Malgassica (1964); 217b Pars secunda Genera Palaearctica (1967); 217c Pars tertia Genera Indo-Australica (1968); and 217a (Supplément) Addenda et corrigenda ad partem primam Genera Aethiopica et Malgassica (1970). The supplement volume has only a half-title, which is loosely inserted. Top end of third volume's spine abraded and remnant of label on front cover; author's name and regions handwritten on spines. otherwise, an excellent, clean set. Added: a handwritten note by its former owner, the French medical biologist and entomologist Paul Thiaucourt (1928-2022), whose collection is now in the Muséum national d'Histoire naturelle in Paris. His pictorial, lepidopterpological bookplate mounted on the front wrapper verso of the first part. Also included: an invoice, by the publisher, to Thiaucourt, for the supplement part. The note, on printed stationery of Thiaucourt, relates to Part 217C, pp. 226-227, genus Rhegmatophila Standfuss, describing localities, a habitat and fodder plant.
