Paris, P. Bertrand; Strasbourg, V. Levrault, 1840-[1847]. Folio-size loose lithograph (33,9 x 25,3 cm). Well preserved hand-painted engraving of plants.

Well preserved hand-coloured engraving of kelp and other seaweeds, and moss, after original drawings, most probably by French botanical artist Alfred Riocreux (1820-1912) or his father, the miniaturist Denis-Désiré Riocreux (1791-1872), although signed "Ed. Riocreux"; and finely engraved by the French natural history illustrator and engraver Victor. Very light, slightly irregular toning; some very weak creasing; left edge slightly irregular, with some light fraying. No dents or tears. Nissen ZBI, 3021; Sabin, 57457.
