[Trade Catalogue] G. G. Paris (wallpaper)
Dernières nouveautés. Paris 1923-24.
Paris, Maison G. G., 1923. Oblong folio (23.4 x 37.0 cm). Printed text on front pastedown, three leaves with descriptions and illustrations of papers and tools; over 250 colour-printed leaves.
A fine example of an early 20th-century wallpaper trade catalogue, containing well over 250 designs, mostly in pochoir and related techniques, as well as information on available formats, pricing, and shipping costs, including those to various French colonies. The majority of the examples are in traditional styles - or simply timeless -, but several are in an early Art Deco style, which was just emerging. Several leaves cut on the right side, apparently to provide customers with examples to choose from, although the accompanying instructions precluded use in this way. However, it does reflect which designs were in fact the most popular. Wear to board edges, otherwise very good. Rare.
