Bern, Haller, 1852-1854. 8vo (18.3 x 12.2 cm). 163 pp. Later green cloth with gilt title on the spine.

A rarely seen consolidated offprint, with new, continuous pagination. Each of the seven parts separately dated, and all with a drop head title, except the first, which has a separate title page, but has the title, Diagnosen einiger neue Mollusken aus den Canarischen Inseln, omitted by mistake (here added in pencil). Offprints from the Mittheilungen der Naturforschenden Gesellschaft in Bern. Mostly on Macaronesian and Caribbean land molluscs, including Truncatellidae and Melampidae, as well as some truly marine species, in particular from the Canary Islands, and Polyplacophora. The original page numbers are added in an old hand. Provenance: The Conchological Society of Great Britain and Ireland (their small, shallow blind stamp in top margins), and with on the front free endpaper a stamp of the American malacologist Richard Irwin Johnson (1925-2020). Bound in the rear: Studer, T. (1884) Die Mollusken der nächsten Umgebung von Bern. Published in the same series (offprint with separate title, and 18 pp.). A very good, unique item.
