Rare work by the Dutch ichthyologist and medical doctor Pieter Bleeker (1819-1878) describing and illustrating several new species of Asian knifefishes or featherbacks, which are tropical fresh to brackish fish. Published in the academy's Nova Acta. '1852' is the year in which Bleeker submitted the work; according to Dean it was not published until 1854. The wrappers may be original. Uncut. A very good copy. Dean I., p. 122.
