The plates are numbered 16, 18, 22, 35, 168, 172, 184, 189, 231, and 361, yet the work is complete as intended. Barrande effectively published two series within his Système Silurien, one being a series of descriptive and systematical monographs in quarto format (with the plate numbering nearly completely sequentially), the other, of which this is an example, a series of zoogeographical, and phylogenetic papers and monographs with the plate numbers rather haphazard.
