A large, complete copy of a wallpaper catalogue with many fine examples of wallpaper in various styles en vogue just before WWII. Peculiar, and perhaps a novelty, are the occasional interior view drawings, with a cut out of the walls, each showing the wallpaper sample. Rath and Doodeheefver was a leading Amsterdam-based firm founded in 1890 and active until its sudden bankruptcy in 1998, after wallpaper rather quickly fell out of fashion. Boards a bit soiled and worn, with some staining; the printed year 1938, both on the spine and front board crossed out and replaced by '1939' in blue crayon; the interior leaves with cutouts a bit damp stained in their right margins, a few samples a bit creased in lower outer corners, otherwise fine. A very good copy.
