Washington, DC, United States Fish Commission, 1902. 4to (26.8 x 18.7 cm). viii, 431 pp., 72 plates (heliotypes, photographs, two fine chromolithographs of crabs), numerous text figures. Contemporary red pebbled half calf over red pebbled boards. Spine with five raised bands and gilt title. Red marbled endpapers, red marbled edges.

This is part 2, with papers on invertebrates, except the Mollusca (the fishes and molluscs are in part I). Includes an index of all species dealt with. The majority is formed by papers on crustaceans, with fine plates of crabs, etc. Included are the Brachyura and Macrura, Anomura, Stomatopoda, Isopoda, and Cirripedia. Also included are nemerteans, Echinodermata, Alcyonaria, stony corals, sponges, etc. Part I, not present, deals with general observations on the fisheries, the fishes, and the molluscs. Small damp stain in the top margin of a few leaves. A very attractive binding, and a fine, well-preserved copy. Peculiarly absent in the Cat. BM(NH) and in Nissen, who only lists the fish section of part I.
