Upsala [Uppsala], Almqvist & Wiksells, 1905-1913. Five volumes in five. 8vo (24.5 x 16.5 cm). Near uniform later half linen over marbled boards. All but one with the original printed front wrapper mounted on the front board.

This is a complete set of five re-edited editions of works by Carolus Linnaeus. The first (Soulsby, 283) is an annotated and updated edition, edited by Fries, of his Flora Lapponica; it includes a facsimile of the frontispiece and original title in red and black; the second is a collection of ten smaller natural history papers; the third (Soulsby, 335), is a facsimile of the 1738 original Classes plantarum; the fourth is a collection of 14 smaller, botanical papers; the fifth (Soulsby, 197) is a Swedish translation, by N. H. Lärjungar and the Swedish mycologist T. M. Fries, of his travels through Lapland, enriched with original pen and ink sketches by Linnaeus. See Soulsby, 28 (p. 6), for a complete list of papers and plates. Library bindings with call number or label remnants, and library stamp on the first titles. Not an elegant set, but complete and without any serious faults. Individual copies are very uncommon, a complete set like this one is definitely rare. Soulsby, 28.
