The thesis of this famous French zoologist and carcinologist Alphonse Milne-Edwards (1835-1900). Geoffroy Saint-Hilaire was the examiner. This work contains the description and illustration of many new species of fossil crabs. Also published in the Annales des Sciences Naturelles and continued as a series until 1865, when it was completed, with 390 pages and 48 plates. Wrapper edges with some repairs, the first five plates have been bound in the front; some scattered light foxing, marginal on a few plates, otherwise a very good, clean copy. Rare. Nissen ZBI, 2828.
