Written by the German historian, theologist, and court preacher Johann Ernst Rudolph, Kaeuffer ((Käuffer) (1793-1865), who lived and worked in Dresden. The three parts, being the result of over ten years of study, comprise a general introduction, and East Asian (chiefly Chinese, Indian and Indonesian) history up to 500 BCE, up to 1000 CE, and up to 1860.
