Two rare works on chemistry by the French chemist and agriculturist Jean Pierre Louis Girardin (1803-1884), translated, expanded and updated by Frederik Hendrik van Moorsel (1831-1901), a Dutch chemist, who was an assistant at the Scheikundig Laboratorium in Amsterdam. Girardin was the successor of Louis Pasteur at the university of Lille. OCLC reports only four copies, all in Dutch libraries.
