First edition of a well-illustrated travelogue, with much information on life in Persia [Iran], and the eastern part of Ottoman Arabia (now Iraq, and parts of some adjacent countries). Written by Mary Eliza Hume-Griffith, about whom little else is known, except that she was the wife of a medical doctor, missionary, and co-author of several chapters, and being an author of more works on Asian topics. The photographs mainly show women and men in Persia [Iran]. A 16 pp. publisher's catalogue, dated 1/3/08, bound in the rear. A few old ownership marks on the front free endpaper; some scattered spotting to several text pages, plates generally clean. A very good, complete copy.
