A rare, bound copy. This work consists of four, well-illustrated parts, viz., Mammifères (anatomie comparée. Enbryologie) by R. Anthony and F. Villemin; Oiseaux by A. Ménégaux and J. Berlioz; Reptiles by F. Angel; and Poissons by Jacques Pelligrin. Inscribed on the fascicule title "Hommage à monsieur le professeur Roule", by Johan Chabot, and dated 13 February 1924. Loosely inserted a leaf containing the publication plan, listing five volumes in all, dealing with [1] the history of the mission, [2] astronomy, triangulation, meteorology, magnetism, [3] ethnography, anthropology, linguistics, [4] vertebrates (this volume), arthropods, and [5] the Nyaneka river. Not all parts were published. A very good, clean copy in a later, but attractive and solid binding.
