[Germany, ca. 1820]. Single sheet, with gilt floral pattern on blue-dyed wove paper (43.0 x 35.5 cm).
A finely coloured sheet of printed paper, or papier dominoté (French) or Buntpapier (German), probably meant as endpapers for folio-sized books or other means, such as packing or decorating the interior of furniture. The combination of dark blue and gilt is unusual and quite attractive. Full-size, uncut. Weak, vertical fold, as often, otherwise, in excellent condition, the printing strong.
