Scarce work of this famous Danish entomologist Johann Christian Fabricius (1745-1808) in which he laid the foundation of his scientific thoughts on entomology, with definitions of descriptive characters, (natural) insect groups, lists of genera, etc. Fabricius was one of the most famous pupils of Linnaeus, with whom he formed a life-long friendship. He greatly advanced the field of entomology and gained a wide reputation abroad. Disbound, but with the spine intact. A few leaves with some light spotting; otherwise, a very good, complete copy.
