Written by th famous comparative anatomist, zoologist and president of the German zoological society, Wilhelm Georg "Willy" Kükenthal (1861-1922). Including a chapter coauthored by the influential German neurologist, psychiatrist and psychologist Georg Theodor Ziehen (1862-1950), titled Das Centralnervensystem der Cetaceen.
