Hosséus, C. C.
Durch König Tschulalongkorns Reich. Eine deutsche Siam-Expedition.
Stuttgart, Strecker & Schröder, 1912. 4to (29.0 x 22.5 cm). xii, 219 pp.; 124 photographs and one map on 32 unnumbered plates. Original red, pictorial cloth. Spine with title in black; front board with title vignette in white and black. Bevelled edges.
Well-illustrated report of the German expedition to Siam (Thailand) in 1904-1906. Written by the German - later Argentinian - botanist Carl Curt Hosséus (1878-1950). Mainly anthropological but also dealing with the natural history, e.g., elephants. Text in Fraktur, but definitely the most easily readable version of this script. The rare original pictorial binding is a bit soiled and very slightly worn, but, otherwise, in a very good condition. Small owner's stamp on the front free endpaper verso, otherwise, internally clean. Rare in this very good condition.
