Huene, F. Von
Los saurisquois y ornitisquios del Cretáceo Argentino.
La Plata, Universidad Nacional de La Plata, 1929. Folio (36.2 x 27.0 cm). 224 pp.; 44 plates. Contemporary pebbled half calf over marbled boards. Gilt title and ornaments on the spine.
Important monograph on the Argentine dinosaurs with comments on the phylogeny of the group, reconstructions of animals, and the description and illustration of new species. Also with new higher taxa. Friedrich Richard Freiherr von Hoynigen (1875-1969) was a German palaeontologist known under the name Von Huene. This is the complete Annales del Museo de La Plata, series 2, volume III, bound with the much thinner volumes I and II, containing other, often well-illustrated papers on geology, archaeology, etc. Bookblock heavy; endpapers cracked at joints; otherwise a very good, clean copy. Very rare. Neither in Cat. BM(NH) nor in Vanzolini as he did not include extinct taxa.
