Paris, L. L'Homme, 1914. 8vo (25.2 x 16.1 cm). 88 pp.; six hand-coloured engraved plates, hand-coloured folded map. Original printed wrappers.
The author's thesis. Very nicely illustrated, the plates showing larger mushrooms. In 1914, the use of hand-colouring had become quite unusual. The map shows the Belfort region with the various botanical zones indicated in different colours. Léon Joachim (1873-1945) was a pharmacist in Belfort (Bourgogne), and a president of the French mycological society. Uncut. Front wrapper at lower end a bit creased and partly torn, fore edge a bit frayed as usual when uncut, otherwise a very good, clean copy. Rare. Volbracht, 975.
