The very rare original edition, published in eight parts between 1879 and 1882. Editor and chief contributor was the Italian mycologist Pier Andrea Saccardo (1845-1920). There is a 1969 reprint, which is, nonetheless, uncommon. Pictorial bookplate on both front pastedowns; label on spines foot; a few light pencil marks, otherwise a very good, clean set. Cat. BM(NH) pp. 1306, 1777; Not in Volbracht (neither in the 2017 supplement), underscoring its great rarity.
