Giacomo Bresadola (1847-1929) was one of the most important Italian mycologists. This book contains the descriptions and illustrations of edible and poisonous mushrooms from Italy and the Trento area in particular. This is the second, enlarged, edition, with a new preface, and with a several more plates than the (also very rare) 1899 first edition. Several bookdealers report a second edition with only 112 plates. This edition was the last published before the author’s death. Bookplate on front pastedown, otherwise a very good, clean, and complete copy. Rare. Nissen BBI, 229; Stafleu and Cowan, 744; Volbracht, 242.
