This very large atlas forms a major contribution to the palaeogeography of Russia and the adjacent countries and seas, including the Mediterranean Sea, Arabian Shelf, Bering Sea, Sea of Okhotsk, Japan Sea, South Chinese Sea, Black Sea and Caspian Sea, etc., etc. Important because of prospecting for hydrocarbons and other mineral resources such as deposits of gold, diamonds, cassiterite, rutile, and in palaeoecological researches. This work was written by Russian scholars, but the text is bilingual, Russian and English. Each chapter in the text volume has its own pagination. Small repair to top spine cover of the atlas volume, otherwise very good, clean. Rare.
