Paris, Mme Huzard, 1828. 8vo (21.5 x 13.3 cm). 106 pp.; three folded engraved geological profiles. Contemporary polished half calf. Spine with five raised, gilt-bordered bands and gilt title on red morocco shield. Marbled flyleaves.

A seldom-seen, early geological description of parts of eastern France by the French geologist and mineralogist Auguste-Henri De Bonnard (1781-1857). Extrait du Memoire de l'Académie des Sciences (1827), however, the pagination starts with 1 so this is a true offprint. Title mounted and a handwritten dedication to a Monsieur Biot, written by the author, mounted on first blank. A nice, contemporary bound copy.
