Very good copy of this very important catalogue on one of the finest collections on Benin art, however also dealing with its history and language. According to Kainbacher "sehr selten". The author, Josef Marquart (after 1921 Markwart) (1864-1930), was a German historian and orientalist. Old, cancelled library stamp in title page top margin; binding a bit weak, some light rubbing to the boards; rear lower outer corner a bit bumped; otherwise, a very good, clean copy.
