Leipzig, Karl W. Hiersemann, 1923. 4to (31.4 x 24.5 cm). 169 pp.; 50 plates, of which two larger, folded and one in duotone; one very large, coulored maps, and 12 text illustrations. Original decorated red cloth. Spine with gilt ornamental lines bands; front board with gilt title and embossed black vignette.

The fine plates show an amazing variety of household and farming tools, weapons, etc. Written by the Swiss archaeologist Paul Vouga (1880-1940). Private owner's stamp of Alphonse Jeannet (most probably the Swiss geologist and palaeontologist who lived from 1883 to 1962) in the top margin of the title page; institutional stamp in the lower margin, also on the half-title. Light shelf-wear, otherwise a very good, clean copy.
