A stunning, gigantic plate by the famous bird painter and ornithologist John Gould (1804-1881), depicting a plate-billed mountain toucan, a bird from tropical South America, in particular Ecuador, and a small region in Colombia. This magnificent illustration was first published in Gould's famous A Monograph of the Ramphastidae, or Family of Toucans (1854) . This excellent reproduction is faithful to the original in every detail. An excellent, clean copy.
