Two papers on Indian plants, in particular on plant movement, and on a pathogenic fungus living on plants, written by the Scottish medical doctor and botanist David Douglas Cunningham (1843-1914), who spent most of his adult life in India. Both works are beautifully illustrated in colour (seven plates to the first paper, two to the second). These papers were published together in the Annals of the Royal Botanical Garden, Calcutta Vol. VI. Part II. Boards a bit stained; volume title written on the portfolio spine; text and plates are very good, mostly clean; a few plates with isolated, mild foxing. An excellent copy. Cat. BM(NH) p. 406 (both papers); Stafleu and Cowan, p. 572.
