Part of Frech's Lethaea Mesozoica, volume II and written by the Austrian palaeontologist Gustav Edler von Arthaber (1864-1943). The work is richly illustrated with many text figures being photos of the higher mountains, often with geological features indicated. The plates mainly show molluscs, including many ammonites, bivalves and gastropods. Added: a 1962 original purchase invoice. Stamp and small repair on first text page, old owner's inscription on the front flyleaf, otherwise a very good clean copy.
