A seldom-seen portrait of the Swiss banker, entomologist and beetle-specialist Andreas Bischoff-Ehinger (1812-1875), who lived and worked in Basel. His collection is now in the Natural History Museum of Basel (Horn-Kahle). The source of this portrait is unknown to us. Perhaps extracted from a local natural history periodical.
