Cossmann, M.
Mollusques eocéniques de la Loire-Inférieure.
Nantes, Société des Sciences naturelles de l'Ouest de la France, 1899-1906. 8vo (25.0 x 16.1 cm). In six issues. Uniform pictorial wrappers.
A rare, well-illustrated series, including numerous new species. Published in the society's Bulletin, which itself is quite scarce. The author, Alexandre Édouard Maurice Cossmann (1850-1924) - he never used his first two names - is arguably the most important author on the Tertiary palaeontology of France. This set consists of the following parts: 1897. 1. 7(4). [Tome 1e] - Troisième fascicule; 1899. 1. 9(4). Tome 2e - Premier fascicule; 1902. 2. 2(1). Tome 2e - Deuxième fascicule; 1904. 2. 4(3-4). Tome 3e - Premier fascicule; 1905. 2. 5(4). Tome 3e. Deuxième fascicule; and 1906. 2. 6(4). Tome 3e - Troisième fascicule. Wrappers frayed and a bit chipped at edges; some gatherings loose; otherwise in very good condition. Not in Nissen.
