This may contain first geological map of the departement Mayenne (part of the Pays de la Loire) of which Le Mans is the capital. Compiled and written by the mining engineer Édouard Blavier (1802-1887). The maps in a fine state, with bright colouring. A very good, complete copy in a nice, contemporary binding. Rare. Neither in Cat. BM(NH), nor in Ward & Carozzi.
