A stunning, gigantic plate by the famous bird painter and ornithologist John Gould (1804-1881), depicting a white-throated toucan, a bird from tropical South America, in particular Venezuela, Colombia, Bolivia, and Brazil. This magnificent illustration was first published in Gould's famous A Monograph of the Ramphastidae, or Family of Toucans (1854) . This species was named after the great French zoologist George Cuvier. This excellent reproduction is faithful to the original in every detail. An excellent, clean copy.
