Pyrmont, Georg Uslar, 1830. 8vo (19.9 x 11.8 cm. xvi, 169 pp. Contemporary grained, blind-stamped boards. Gilt title on spine. Marbled edges.
A rare, taxonomically important work, with many new species, written by the German malacologist Karl - or Carl - Theodor Menke (1791-1861). Old neat, small stamp of a German book dealer on the front pastedown, next to a small white blotch. Small stamp of the American malacologist Richard Irwin Johnson (1925-2020) in the top margin of the front free endpaper recto. Title page a bit spotted, but the other pages clean. The binding is very well-preserved. Caprotti II, p. 40 [204].
